The Garden isn't perfect... but it's growing
Why you don't have to be "that girl" to be loved by God.
Growth. Character development. Manifestation. Healing. These are all words brought up normally in today's world. We hear them thrown around on platforms such as Pinterest, insta, tiktok. It's brought up in the day-to-day world as something good.
Our society has this idea that our lives have to be "perfect." before we bring ourselves to God. That before we go out into the big wide world we have to be eating healthy, being healthy, drinking the 2 litres of water, wearing that mascara and of course, the perfect mental mind. We have to be "that girl" to go out into the world. Here's the thing....
You don't have to be perfect to be in a relationship with God.
You don't have to be fully recovered from mental issues, you don't have to be eating healthy and you don't have to be "that girl" to be loved.
Imagine that you are a garden. All gardens start out dry, messy, unplanted and field with dirt. But what creates the beautiful garden? The gardener.
God is that gardener. He doesn't wait for your life to be perfect before he starts working on you. He meets you in the overgrown weeds, the tangled roots, the cracked dirt lacking from rain. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO BE A WORK IN PROGRESS!
Maybe your mind is all over the place right now. Maybe some patterns in your life feel like they are suffocating you, maybe you're wrestling with emotions that don't make sense, or relationships that are just too much to handle.
Maybe you're tired of being asked questions about your mental health when you seriously don't know what's wrong.
We so often try to manifest but fail to improve. We try to eat and act healthier but we feel like we fail. We are always trying to improve but when we don't see the HUGE improvements... we forget to celebrate the growth that's already happening in you.
I for one, have often tried to do recovery and growth for myself and when I don't get the results, when I don't follow the checklist... let's just say it stings more then I will ever expect. But I have to trust that God has good stuff in store for me and to keep on trying to get better and improve as a person. Because he loves us soooo much.
Here's the truth: growth doesn't always look like blooming. Sometimes it looks like pruning. And pruning hurts.... a lot. It's cutting away those habits, those routines, those thoughts that no longer serves you. It's the surrender of control to the messiah, Jesus Christ. It's the trust that even if something is being taken... something better is being prepared.
Here's the thing... in all the time I have been reading the bible I have never seen a bible verse that tells me I have to be perfect, that I have to do my yoga every day. In Philippians 4:8 Jesus says...
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
Jesus asks us to be kind, to live by his word, to trust in him.
Nowhere does it say... have it all together before you come to me.
That's just social media, our brains and our society talking.
Jesus loves us no matter what. He loves us SO much he gave his only son.
Jesus said He prunes the branches that are bearing fruit. That means even when you’re trying, even when you’re healing, even when you’re doing your best—there will still be pain. But it’s purposeful. It’s sacred. It’s part of the process.
Keep on trying.. cut out those patterns that are keeping you from God, even if it hurts. Reach out. Read the bible. Live for God.
Life is worth it.
