To the one who survived 2025: Happy New Year!

To the one who survived 2025:

                            HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year everyone!!! 🎆 I am so ecstatic to be writing the final blog post for the year!!! So, obviously, today I wanted to talk about 2026 and 2025. We always start a new year with a new glow up plan, ambitious resolutions and plans to be “that person” But before anything else, I think the most important thing is to thank God that we are here, right now. Breathing. Alive.

REFLECTIONS OF 2025 🤔❓

This year has been… a lot, it has been the kind of year filled with laughter, crying, hope. The kind of year that leaves you breathless and smiling while crying. This blog post is to you, the person who survived another year.

So let me tell you when that clock strikes midnight on the 1st of January I will be probably crying, praising God for how He has worked in my life over the past year. The devil tried to break me over and over again, but through God’s glory, each time I was able to rebuild my world on truth.

2025 was the year of 67, (Sorry to bring the brain rot, chat 😅) yet it was a heavy year for the world- so much happened- global heartbreak, pain, change, global hope- so many events reminded us of how fragile life is and how deeply we need God. And if you were affected by any of it, I want to honour you. Keep trusting the Lord ✝️.

And as someone writing on her computer at 12.03 am on the 31st of December…. Yes. This year had some major downfalls. But I want to encourage you to see the brighter side. For the first time in what seven years, I felt like I truly belonged somewhere. I learned that true friends stay even when you try to block out the world- they sit in your corner and talk. I’ve made so many relationships over the year, and I am so grateful that God has blessed me with them.

Think of a time when you were simply living. Not worrying, not comparing, simply present. THAT was also the core of 2025.

So… 2026. Who else has made their vision boards? I sure have.

As we go into 2026, I want to share some advice I’ve learned, some bible verses to lean on and a short prayer to carry into 2026.

ADVICE I'VE LEARNED ✝️📖

Some advice I’ve learned throughout this year:

  1. ·       you have to learn how to say NO. It’s one of the strongest things you can say in Highschool. Showing your true feelings is strength, not weakness.
  2. ·       Food is fuel. Food provides energy. A good breakfast can shape your day…(This needs no explanation.)
  3. ·       Asking for help does not make you weak. It makes you human.
  4. ·       True change does not come from thought, it comes from action.
  5. ·       No matter how scary things get, God is always with you. He has a plan and a purpose for you.

Bible verses to carry into 2026 ✝️🔥

 Isaiah 40:31:

“but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”

As we approach 2026 remember that true strength comes from the Lord. Put your hope in him, and he will renew you.

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding.                                                                                                in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight”

Independence is great but surrender is greater. 2026 is my year of trying to trust God with everything- and I encourage you to do the same.

PRAYER FOR A NEW YEAR 🔥🙏🏻

And as we go in 2026, I want to pray this prayer. If you want to say it along with me, please feel free to! Prayer is so powerful and it’s so important to have regular conversations with God.

Dear Father,

Thankyou for 2025. Thankyou for the blessings you brought into this this year- thankyou for the laughter, the lessons learnt, thankyou for the fact that we are still standing, that we survived this year. Thankyou that even through all the trials, you stood with us. Thankyou that even when we didn’t feel like you where with us, you were there in the belly of the whale. And father, I just want to pray for 2026. This world is a messed-up place father, and I pray for revival in the hearts of non-Christians, I pray for safety in the eyes of the people who are suffering, I pray for shalom (peace) for the people in wars, outbreaks and shootings.

I pray that anyone reading this will remember that they are never alone and that they can trust in you and surrender to you, and you will care for them.  I pray that 2026 will be the type of year to try new things, meet new people and draw closer to you.

I am sorry for every time I turned away from you each year, every time I slipped up and didn’t keep my promises.

Thankyou. For keeping me. For keeping everyone here today. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven,

I love you, Lord.

Amen.

So… what are you waiting for?

Step into 2026 with courage, joy, shalom, with the confidence that God is already ahead of you. Happy New Year.... and goodbye 2025!
