Faith, beat and worship: My top 6 Christian Artists.

TOP 6 CHRISTIAN ARTISTS TO ADD TO YOUR PLAYLIST 🔥💗

Hey everyone! I'm back!!!
Today I just wanted to talk about music and the act of worship!!! When I first decided to stand up at a youth camp in 2024 to give my life to Jesus  for the first time, I had no clue about any "modern." Christian music that I could listen to, and I heard my first Christian rap song at a 6:00 work out session on the camp. I also didn't know how to "be" a Christian, so I felt like worship could be something I could do to grow in faith.
After the youth camp finished, I went home and I was like, "Ok. I've committed my life to this Jesus... what music should I listen to?"
I did a lot of research, stalked a lot of Christians I knew on Spotify, and eventually found Christian Artists I could enjoy and vibe to, without guilt or boredom.
I created multiple playlists of Christian songs I liked, and implemented them into my daily life. A particular song "Jesus Paid it All." by Forrest Frank, eventually inspired me to get baptised, (which is a whole different story)

IS SECULAR MUSIC BAD?

As teenage Christians we are often faced with difficulties choosing music that align with our faith.
One of the biggest false beliefs out there about Christianity is that being a Christian means not listening to secular artists.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love so much secular artists- like Alex Warren and Ed Sheeran, and being Christian doesn't mean that I can't ban them from my "On Repeat" playlist on Spotify. However as Christians we have to show discernment about the songs we listen to- listen to the lyrics, learn the meaning and if you don't feel comfortable listening to the song, as it causes you to want to sin, or influences you badly, I suggest don't listen to it.
In Philippians 4:8 it encourages us to "do what is good and honourable." So.. when you listen to Secular Artists, remember to try and act justly and listen to what God is telling you to do. I personally like to avoid songs with explicit descriptions, swear words and songs mocking Jesus, as this doesn't align with my values, however here is the thing...
You need to decide your values. (Tip: read the bible... it changes your values for good) and when you have your values straight, that's when you decide about listening to Secular music.

WHY WORSHIP AND CHRISTIAN SONGS ARE IMPORTANT

Worship is such a important part of being a Christian as it declares praise and thanks to the Lord. I have listened or heard worship songs lie, and felt this vulnerability in the air you often don't see. There's this feeling you don't normally get, when you are on your knees surrendering all to God, or jumping up and down in a mosh pit screaming praise. Here's another thing: You don't have to be in a group to worship, sometimes it's best to put on a Christian song and give God your heart. I have memories of listing to "I Surrender." at midnight with my hands held in the sky, just because I wanted to speak to God.
In Psalm 95:1 it says:
"Come let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation."
You see, all these Christian artists I have listed, they are declaring praise to to the lord, and shouting their joy for all to hear... yet all in their different ways. So, be ready to dive in to a whole new world of Christian Music!!!! (I hope this helps you!)

#1 Forrest Frank.

Forrest Frank makes praising Jesus the "cool" thing with his effortless pop and hip-hop. He also does a lot of rapping! He gives awesome vibes as a Christian and gives praise to the Lord in every song, every interview, every appearance. If you have seen him on Tiktok, you will see that his concerts in America are really cool, and I hope he comes to my city sometime in the future!
If you have listened to his songs, you will agree that his new albums are GOATED. From "Your ways better." to "Celebration." to "Testimony." he blends a mixture of genres to sing his praise to the lord.
Out of all his songs I honestly love UP! (His classic.) because of the lyrics and how upbeat it is, but I also quite enjoy Jesus paid it all and his latest albums. His viral song, 'Your ways better." has become a international dance trend, and so many people have gotten to know God's love because of him.

#2 Leanna Crawford
A rising sensation with an acoustic guitar vibes, Leanna Crawford's songs are beautifully created, with a raw honesty and vulnerability to them, that you don't often see. With Leanna Crawford faith is a messy journey- it's not perfect, but full of trials. Her songs are filled with heartfelt praise and a openheartedness that God loves.
One of my favourite songs of hers is "Still Waters." Still Waters is based of Psalm 23, and is a constant reminder that in the face of fear and anxiety, God's still got us. It's the type of song you listen to when you need encouragement.
Another one of her songs, "Honest." is the sort of Christian vulnerability that is encouraged by the bible, but a lot of Christians don't participate in. It's about being open and real with God, especially during times of fear and unanswered prayers. It encourages us that God's loving mercy is with us even in the midst of chaos.

#3 JOSIAH QUEEN
Josiah Queen's melodies are raw with a folk-tinged sound and lots of beats! His songs are really easy to get into. One of his viral songs, "Prodigal" as it is very catchy and upbeat, expressing how we often chase things of this world like money and fame, but in the end we just need God. Another one of his most famous songs "Dusty Bibles" is filled with metaphors about how our generation has turned away from God, to technology and social media. It is a call to action to reconnect with God, and a reminder to not idolise earthly things over the father. He has been known for doing a collab with Forrest before, and is a rising Christian artist, growing higher in the charts.

#4 Lauren Daigle.
Her music is really something out of the ordinary (ignore the Alex Warren reference 🤣)... with beautiful and pure words her voice resonates with thousands of Christian music lovers all over the world. My personal favourite of her songs is "You say." It speaks to anyone who has ever felt not enough in the societal pressure to "perform." It is a reminder that God loves us and that we are wonderfully made in his image. It's the sort of song you listen to when you just need a reminder how strong and loved you are.

#5 Hulvey

A shout out to all the Christian Rap experts out there! Hulvey's music is intense with a lot of hip-hop and rap, His songs are emotional yet fast paced, making you think about the words you are saying. The songs he creates have really good rhythm and a beautiful beat to them. A favourite song for yall is "Anxiety." It just has this fear but at the same time peace in it saying that we shouldn't let some anxiety or paranoia take over our lives and to live life with God, not without God. It's one of those thematic rap songs that should be screamed into mikes because of how true it is.

#6 Toby Mac
This guy is so popular I remember we still sung his songs in worship when I was in primary school! (Which, honestly wasn't so long ago) His preferred genres are hip-hop and rap and he brings an element of fun and praises God in every song. A song that is just so stunning every time I listen to it is "Cornerstone." Whenever I listen to it, it brings me to a video we played at my Grandpa's birthday. This song is just so expressive and true to God.

IN CONCLUSION

Christian music is a way to worship God and praise him for the creations. Music is such a good way to express ourselves to God and it's just purely cleansing to listen to a good Christian song. Thanks so much to all of these artists for bringing so many people to faith... continue the good work!
I'm also going to attach some playlists for yall to listen to if you are dry on Christian songs!

Have a good week everyone and stay safe :)
